Line, what would be your overall thoughts on "There will be Blood"? Keep in mind though I'm not one who appreciates the deep cinematic features such as yourself. :dunnodude:

I've got my fingers crossed but as of now No Country for Old Men is a pretty big favorite for both Best Picture and Best Director.

It's pretty much perfectly made and there's a bit more below the surface than most of its critics will be able to realize, though it's not overly philosophical. It's just a damn fine story that's incredibly well told, acted, and shot and it has one of the best scores I've ever heard for a film as well. I think some may find it a bit too long but it basically follows Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis) throughout a very gradual emotional arc and speeding it up to appease mainstream audiences would have compromised it big time. I'd normally mention that it recently leaked but the audio track on it is fucked so it's not worth downloading. It's a great theater experience (no dialogue for the first 20 minutes :eek4: ) so if you can catch it there I would, if not the DVD comes out on my birthday. :spy:
