The Rohingya of Myanmar

The Muslims in Myanmar who are called Rohingya are being persecuted according to the Muslims that left Myanmar to temporarily stay in Bangladesh. There is a claim that they are being harassed in Rakhine state that they had to leave. Myanmar president Aung San Suu Kyi has not said anything on the issue giving the impression that the harassment is tolerated by the government.

I remember hearing about this not too long ago. I am not all that familiar with the region and the customers there, but it is terrible to hear anytime a group of people is being treated poorly especially when seemingly government sanctioned or tolerated.

This is a sad issue for the religious because Myanmar is dominantly a Buddhist nation. We know that Buddhists are non-violent and they are pro lifers. That's why it is unthinkable for the Myanmar government to initiate ethnic cleansing by harassing the Muslims and force them to leave Myanmar. It seems that the Burmese people want their country only for themselves.
