In an unprecedented display of strength and skill, Tiffany Chapon, also affectionately known as 'Turbo Tiff,' has once again redefined excellence in the world of powerlifting. At the 2024 International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) Sheffield Powerlifting Championships held on February 10th, Chapon not only competed but triumphed, setting new world records in the 47kg weight class across multiple disciplines.

22 year old junior powerlifter Tiffany Chapon, a 3-time and reigning 47 kilogram world champion, returns to Sheffield and breaks the squat, bench and total world record. The records would also become junior world records due to her age being within the junior age group.

Unparalleled Achievement in Squat, Bench Press, and Total

Squat Excellence

Opening her performance with a squat of 155kg (341.7lbs), Tiffany Chapon laid the groundwork for a historic day. It was her second attempt at 161.5kg (356lbs) that broke the previous IPF World Record, a record that she herself set at the 2023 Championships. Despite a challenging final attempt at 162.5kg (358.3lbs), her achievement marked a significant milestone in her career and the sport.

Bench Press Breakthrough

Not content with just one record, Chapon continued to astonish in the bench press, lifting 100kg (220.5lbs) on her second attempt. This effort not only secured her another world record but also showcased her extraordinary capability to lift over twice her body weight, cementing her status as one of the sport's best.

Deadlift Determination and Total Triumph

While the deadlift record remained elusive, Tiffany's consistent performance across all lifts allowed her to set a new IPF World Record in the total category. With a final deadlift of 170kg (374.8lbs), she achieved a total of 431.5kg (951.3lbs), surpassing the previous record and demonstrating her unmatched all-around strength.

A Legacy of Dominance

Tiffany Chapon's journey in powerlifting is a testament to her dedication, skill, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. With 18 sanctioned competitions under her belt and 13 victories, including multiple world records, her dominance in the 47kg class is undisputed.
