By the way the Nissan pulled away mid race in the 2nd I'd guess it had a fair old shot of NOS. It's hard to compare a non-standard car with a production car, even if admittedly there is probably $800,000 difference in price.

A little comparison, heres a CCR Evolution 806hp (basically a CCX) vs a Switzer GT-R P800 (+70hp to the car that races against the veyron)

Actually the engines are hand made and developes somewere around 440-480hp stock

But yes it is a long held secret that the GTR and Supra (etc) would advertise their power rating at the allowed Japanese level of 290 but regularly exceeded it.
