Never seen before footage from the 1992 FIBO where Tom Platz squatted 525lbs for 23 reps.
You can see in this video that 4 plates per side (8 in total how they call it) is 410lbs instead of 405lbs and 6 plates per side is 590lbs instead of the normal 585lbs which means the bar is 50lbs.
Tom Platz's 1 rep max that day was 8 plates per side or 770lbs with that bar.
Then at the end they squat for reps what appears to be 500lbs. (would have been 495lbs on a normal bar)
