Two Arrested in Preble County for Steroid Operation

Preble County deputies have arrested two individuals accused of manufacturing and selling anabolic steroids from their home near Gratis, Ohio.

Authorities executed a search warrant on October 6 at a residence on State Route 503 South. Inside, investigators discovered a large-scale drug operation that included powders, pills, liquids, distribution equipment, and two industrial pill presses. Deputies also seized cash, several vehicles, marijuana, and LSD.

The suspects, identified as 39-year-old Ronald J. Fox and 57-year-old Susan M. Fox, were taken into custody without incident. Both face a long list of charges that include:

• Drug trafficking (first-degree felony)
• Possession of drugs (second-degree felony)
• Aggravated possession of drugs
• Illegal manufacture of drugs
• Illegal administration or distribution of anabolic steroids
• Distribution or sale of drugs not approved by the FDA
• Endangering children
• Possession of LSD
• Possessing criminal tools
• Possession of drug abuse instruments

Investigators say the evidence points to a coordinated operation capable of producing and packaging large quantities of anabolic steroids for distribution.

Both suspects remain held at the Preble County Jail as the investigation continues. Deputies are working with state and federal agencies to determine the scale of the distribution network and whether additional arrests are expected.
