UFC 243 middleweight title bout – Robert Whitaker vs Israel Adesanya

UFC middleweight champion Robert Whitaker will make another defense of his title against uprising star Israel Adesanya on October 6 at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. The champion has a fight record of 21-4 while the undefeated challenger has 17 wins in his career.

Israel Adesanya is the -140 favorite over the champion and he proved that he could claim the belt of Robert Whittaker. In the first round it was a close fight and in the 2nd round the tempo was almost the same until Adesanya released a haymaker that felled Whittaker and the follow up proved fatal that the referee had to stop the fight. Adesanya is the new UFC middleweight champion.
