UFC fight night - Yair Rodriguez vs Jeremy Stephens

Top 10 featherweight contenders Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens will meet in the UFC octagon as the main event of UFC fight night on September 22 at the Mexico City Arena in Mexico. Contender #7 Rodriguez is 12-2-0 while #8 Stephens is a veteran with a fight record of 28-16-0. It is the battle of a kicker and a heavy puncher.

Yair Rodriguez is the man, just ask Chan
Sung Jung. I'm not saying that Jeremy doesn't match up to Rodriguez but he needs to watch out. It is going to be an entertaining fight imo.

It was very unfortunate that the main event between Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens was declared no contest due to eye injury of Stephens just 15 seconds into the fight. Stephens suffered a poked left eye that he couldn’t open even after the 5-minute injury timeout had lapsed. Referee Herb Dean declared the no contest for the fight amid the jeers of the live crowd. Plastic bottles were thrown in the octagon while Yair was apologizing for the accidental poke.

That was a strange thing to happen. I hear they met in a hotel hotel and almost had an altercation because Rodriguez didn't applogize. I am hoping that this fight will still happen.

Stephens got pocked in the eye and I didn't get a chance to see Yair Rodriguez in action. Just like Olaf, I'm hoping the fight will be rescheduled.

The fans in the arena were really pissed. They were even throwing bottles and other kinds of rubbish in the octagon and towards Stephens when he was leaving the arena.
