This is an innovation of the Filipino MMA league called URCC (Universal Reality Combat Championship). They have the 3x3 rumble which is a team bout with 3 fighters each. The most recent 3x3 was last April 27 when Team China met Team Philippines in the octagon. It is an “anything goes” fight with the 3 fighters from each team looking for a stoppage by knockout or submission. One Chinese fighter got injured that led to the stoppage and the referees gave the fight to Team Philippines.
