Sickness and injury happen. That's life. But for some reason, when it happened to Phil Heath during the 2009 Mr. Olympia competition, there were people who didn't want to believe it.

Some said it was lackluster preparation, others cited poor conditioning. However, the reality is that it was a stomach bug, and we obtained the official EMT report to prove it.

The Gift’s illness caused him to drop weight and lose valuable sleep prior to Friday night’s prejudging.

"It was a deflated version of what we're used to seeing from Phil," Heath’s trainer, Hany Rambod, told flexonine in an exclusive interview. “There’s no excuses, these things happen all the time but when it does, it’s unfortunate.”

but that's ok, next year he will be in the top 2 for sure
