The vacant junior featherweight title will be contested by Brandon Figueroa and Yonfrez Parejo at Dignity Health Sports Park in California on April 20. The favorite in the betting odds is Figueroa whose brother Omar was WBC lightweight champion. Figueroa is undefeated with 18 wins and 13 KOs while Parejo sports a record of 22-3-1 with 11 KOs.

Figueroa earned his 19th win and 14th KO courtesy of Yonfrez Parejo who was very active in the first part of the bout but simmered down and eventually lost gas. Due to the damage of the body shots inflicted by Figueroa, the bout ended when Parejo refused to come out in the 8th round. It was a TKO win for Figueroa who now owns the WBA interim super bantamweight belt.
