WBA junior lightweight title - Andrew Cancio vs. Alberto Machado

The rematch of former WBA junior lightweight champion Alberto Machado against the champion Andrew Cancio will take place in Indio, California on June 21. It can be remembered that Cancio had an upset win over Machado early this year and this is Machado’s chance to regain the title. Machado has a record of 21-1 and 17 KOs while Cancio has a fight record of 20-4-2 and 15 KOs.

When Cancio took away the belt of Machado the weight issue was being used as the reason for the 4th round TKO. For the rematch Cancio again was on a relentless attack that by the 2nd round it looks like Machado is on the losing side. True enough, Cancio released a haymaker that put Machado on the canvas. That was the end of the rematch that Cancio had successfully defended his WBA super featherweight belt.
