WBA/WBO/IBF/WBC women's lightweight unification - Katie Taylor vs Delfine Persoon

Undefeated Katie Taylor will defend her unified belts (WBA, WBO, IBF and WBC) in the lightweight division against Delfine Persoon on June 1 as undercard of the Joshua-Ruiz heavyweight bout at the MGM in New York. With 13 wins and 6 KOs, Taylor is the betting favorite over Persoon who is more experienced with a record of 43-1 and 18 KOs. Both fighters won in their recent fight with a stoppage, Taylor over Rose Volante and Persoon over Melissa St. Vil.

It was a disappointing result for the camp of Taylor who expected a knockout. But as a consolation, Taylor keeps her undefeated record by winning with a majority decision over challenger Persoon with scores of 95-95, 96-94, and 96-94. The fight was so close that some quarters have it a draw.
