Japanese champion Ken Shiro will defend his WBC junior flyweight belt against mandatory challenger Jonathan Taconing.on July 12 in Osaka, Japan. The champion is undefeated with 15 wins and 8 KOs while Taconing has a record of 28-3-1 and 22 KOs. This is the 6th defense of Shiro’s title.

Undefeated Ken Shiro had successfully defended his WBC junior flyweight title against mandatory challenger Jonathan Taconing via a stoppage in the 4th round. The challenger was giving the champion a good fight in the first 3 rounds but a knockdown in the 4th round seemed enough for the referee. Shiro earned his 9th KO in 16 wins.
