WBC light heavyweight title fight - Oleksandr Gvozdyk vs. Doudou Ngumbu

Ukrianian Oleksandr Gvozdyk will face Frenchman Doudou Ngumbu for his first defense of the WBC light heavyweight title that he won over Adonis Stevenson last year. Gvozdyk is undefeated with 16 wins and 13 KOs while the challenger has a fight record of 38-8 and 14 KOs. The fight will be on March 30 in 2300 Arena, Philadelphia.

The WBC light heavyweight belt was successfully defended by Oleksandr Gvozdyk when Ngumbu quit the fight in the 5th round due to a calf problem. Although Gvozdyk was winning every round, it was unexpected for the challenger to go back to his corner with a limp and obviously feeling weak. It was still a sweet win for Gvozdyk and he is now aiming for a unification of the light heavyweight titles.
