WBO Bantamweight title bout – John Riel Casimero vs Nonito Donaire

The bout between John Riel Casimero vs Guillermo Rigondeaux on August 14 was a no when Rigondeaux stepped aside to give Donaire the opportunity for a unification. The 2 Filipino champions will slug it out on August 14. Casimero who has a fight record of 30-4 with 21 KOs will stake h is WBO title while Donaire whose record stands at 41-6 with 27 KOs will put up his WBC bantamweight belt.

It is sad news for the fans of Nonito Donaire that the unification bout with Bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero will not proceed. Donaire had complained of bad attitude towards the camp of Casimero. The friction started with the DAVA enrollment that Casimero declined but later on the camp showed a certificate that Casimero was enrolled before hand. There’s also the issue of rude and lack of respect for the manager of Donaire. Oh well, the fight is officially off.
