Knockout specialist Angel Acosta of Puerto Rico will defend his WBO junior flyweight title against Mexican Elwin Soto on June 21 at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. The champion has a record of 20-1 and 20 KOs while Soto has a lone loss like Soto with 14 wins and 10 KOs. With their ring records, the fight is expected to be shorter than the scheduled 12 rounds.

It’s a 12th round TKO for unknown Mexican boxer Elwin Soto who now owns the WBO junior flyweight title. Acosta suffered a knockdown in the 3rd round but was able to rebound in the succeeding rounds that he was winning in the scorecards before the fight ended. The referee stopped the fight when Soto hit Acosta with a haymaker but there was no substantial follow up that’s why the crowd was surprised when the referee stopped the fight for a TKO win for Soto. This is another controversy in boxing.
