I am not sure where to post this in the forum so I apologize in advance if its in the wrong section. If anyone here knows, feel free to post here. I was told a ergo meter is what measures body fat percentage. Is this correct? how much do these machines cost in general? Is there perhaps some kind of app I can use? or a weight scale?

A lot of gyms use InBody or similar body composition scanners. An ergometer is usually for measuring exercise performance, not body fat.

A smart scale can give you a rough estimate at home but the more advanced machines are generally more accurate.

An ergometer actually measures exercise work output rather than body fat, but you can track body fat at home using a $20 to $60 smart scale that syncs to your phone, or get an accurate DEXA scan for about $40 to $150 per session.
