The 1980 Mr. Olympia has to be one of the most controversial results ever. Arnold was a legend, no question, but looking at his conditioning that night compared with Chris Dickerson and Frank Zane, do you guys think he really deserved the win? Or did his name and reputation play a part?

Curious to hear what everyone thinks, especially those who have followed bodybuilding for decades.

For me man, its gotta be 1980. Arnold's legacy is undeniable but if we're judging what was on stage that night, Zane and Dickerson had a pretty strong case. Name value might have played a part.

Even off his absolute best, Arnold's upper-body structure and sheer frame dominance were just too much for the smaller guys to overcome.

I’d say 1980 was a “right name, wrong night” situation for Arnold, but I get why people argue it both ways.
