Women’s middleweight title unification bout - Claressa Shields vs. Christina Hammer

The unification fight for the women’s middleweight boxing title will be held on April 13 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. Both undefeated, Claressa Shields holds the IBF, WBA and WBC titles while Christina Hammer owns the WBO and WBC titles. Shields is a former Olympic gold medalist but she expects a hard fight because Hammer is an 8-year veteran in the division.

With a 98-92 unanimous scoring of the 3 judges, Claressa Shields is now certified to be the undisputed women’s middleweight boxing champion. Hammer was doing well only in the first round and her performance went on a downslide starting in round 2. Undefeated Shields now has 9 wins and 2 KOs while Hammer suffered her first loss.
