Welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus ably defended her titles with a unanimous decision win over challenger Aleksandra Magdziak-Lopes. In the middleweight bout for women, Claressa Shields retained her title by getting a unanimous decision win over Belgian Femke Hermans. It was HBO’s last coverage of boxing but there is hope that women boxing will continue to be popular.
