What is stage 3 kidney disease?

A medical condition in which the kidneys are not working correctly is known as stage 3 renal disease. This level is split into two parts: stage 3A and stage 3B. The kidney function is reduced in stage 3A, although some normal function remains. Kidney function is considerably reduced in stage 3B.

Stage 3 renal disease may be caused by a number of factors. Diabetes, high blood pressure, glomerulonephritis (a kind of kidney inflammation), and polycystic kidney disease are examples (a genetic disorder). Fatigue, trouble urinating, and swelling in the ankles and feet are all symptoms of stage 3 renal disease.

Treatment for stage 3 renal disease focuses on decreasing disease progression and treating symptoms. This might involve modifications to one's lifestyle, such as eating a nutritious food and exercising on a regular basis. Medications to assist manage blood pressure and renal function may also be administered. Dialysis or a kidney transplant may be required in certain circumstances.
