Dorian Yates is a six-time Mr. Olympia winner and former bodybuilding world champion. The 59-year-old recently took to YouTube to dispel some myths about the sport. He explains that weight isn't the only variable when it comes to how you build muscle. The number of reps you perform also affects the results of your training, he says. If your form breaks down before you've finished your reps, that's probably a sign that you're using too much weight. There is a time and place for partial reps, but if you only work within that limited ROM, you might find yourself with a problem. If you're doing short, partial movements, your body gets used to moving in that range of motion.

In this video, Dorian Yates answers some of the bodybuilding myths that are on the internet: how heavy do you need to lift to grow your muscles and if weight training decreases flexibility.
