Also, 20inch, I peg you as a Faith No More kind of man, so you might like Epic by them. Overall, the song isn't THAT great, but the chorus has a good guitar riff to practise on.

I thought of some more suggestions that you might like:
Angry Again - Megadeth
Beast and the Harlot - Ax7 (Hey, the band may be pretty :gaygay:, but they have killer drums and some decent guitar work in a few songs)
Call To Arms - Manowar (especially the opening riff)
Can't You Hear Me Knocking? - Rolling Stones (Great for an intermediate player to work on transitions. I've seen the sheet music for this song, and it's got a weird timing transition (at least I think it's this Stones song *thinks) to work on)
Change (In The House Of Flies) - Deftones
Cheap Sunglasses - ZZ Top
Heaven's Creepin' In - Supernova Syndicate
Cochise - Audioslave
(if you're into the Stoner Metal sound...)Hurricane - Kyuss
Rapture - Hurt (They're a bit slow, but on an acoustic, this song sounds great)
Shake Tramp - Marianas Trench
Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck - Prong (But the Grinspoon cover might be a better route as the Prong version is harder to come by)
Summertime Blues - Blue Cheer (Considered the original Metal band, and this song showcases some original metal sound)
Track 13 - Dry Kill Logic
Trail of Tears - Testament
Where Is My Mind? - The Pixies
(and if you're into MMA...) Face The Pain - Stemm

If you want any more suggestions, I'd be happy to oblige :tiphat:

You would need a louder sound for the 3/4 mark of that song. It gets louder. I only have an electric-acoustic in the way of acoustics.

learn to use dynamics :tiphat: you'll find that no SERIOUS acoustic guitarist has ever used an acousic guitar amp.

Will do sir. I have some weird acoustic guitar, don't know the make ATM, but it's a real nice one. I had a Les Paul a while ago, but I sold it to pay off my dad for the car loan I needed a while ago.

The acoustic isn't Gibson. I can't remember what it is. But I had a Les Paul Electric, but I sold it.

^ if your calling corey taylor just a "screamer" than you must not be familiar with stone sour or some of the side work he's done with groups such as apocalyptica. the man has serious vocal talent. and if you are familiar with his other works and you still say he's just a screamer, you're either an idiot or a slipknot hater. take your pick

She Builds Quick Machines - Velvet Revolver
Bite The Hand That Bleeds - Fear Factory
Scarlet Pimpernel - Black Sabbath
Bonzo's Montreaux - Led Zeppelin
777 - Danzig (Great acoustic song)
Bron-Y-Aur (or Bron-Y-Aur Stomp) - Led Zeppelin
Hey Man Nice Shot - Filter
Hurt - Johnny Cash (Or NIN if that floats your boat, but I prefer the Cash version better)
I Wanna Rock - Twsited Sister
I'm Eighteen - Alice Cooper
Play With Me - Extreme (AMAZING song for guitar. Great riffs and a killer solo)
The Russian Child Porn Ballet - Today Is The Day
Am I Evil? - Diamondhead
(you need a Lamb Of God song) Laid To Rest - Lamb Of God
Live Wire - Motley Crue
Far Behind - Candlebox
Anything Metallica up until "...And Justice For All" album, everything after that ultimately sucked. The only song after that album I liked was St. Anger and Some Kind Of Monster, but even then...Meh.
Sea Serpent - Cathedral
18 and Life - Skidrow
Mr. Crowley - Ozzy Osborne
Slither - Velvet Revolver
(if you're up for some killer Death Metal riffs) Hammer Smashed Face - Cannibal Corpse
Solar Soul - Samael (has a good opening guitar, but takes a backseat until a few minutes into the song where the solo comes)
Mein Herz Brennt - Rammstein (I know a lot of people don't like them, but I like a lot of their stuff, this is a good example of a song that sounds as good live as it does on the album)
B.Y.O.B. - System Of A Down
Warriors Of The World United! - Manowar
Died For You - Iced Earth
Welcome Home - Coheed and Cambria
and if you want a fucking EPIC song, try 2112 Overture - Rush. It's like 22 godamn minutes long...
And last, but not least...
Ziggy Stardust - David Bowie

guitars: over distorted, downtuned way to far, muddy, boring. and as for the solo's... they just shouldnt do them, they sound like they got kerry king in to do the solos. :jerkoff1:

Drums: messy.

Vocals: that sort of vocals takes no skill, they are just screaming into the mic, theres no real rhythmic seperation between the vocals and the drums/bass/guitars. Growls on the other hand take a lot of skill to control, and we all know its hard to sing clean, which i said earlier that corey taylor has a good regular singing voice.

Oh BTW 'the knot' eat dick :tiphat:

i don't know how you dis on their drums. joey jordison is one of the better drummers i have seen.

your also ragging on them because you say, for a metal band, they distort their shit too much? i don't even know what to say to that. for the hard intense sound their going for, that's the best way to do it. and them downtuning their guitars to drop B or whatever is more for a distinct sound, which they more than achieve.

BORING!?!?!?:49::49::49::49:......

taylor's vocals are exceptional. and even in songs where he doesn't sing and it is more screaming (ie "spit it out") it is still awesome to hear the power/passion. not just anyone can "scream" like that, let alone for a whole song.

i bet your the type of guy who dislikes when bands get too "popular" because in your mind this is viewed as selling out. slipknot has a huge following because their sound is something no other band can imitate or recreate. they own. the end.

Slipknot is a success, nuff said. I love slipknot, but I think their first album is owns all the rest. :tiphat:
Just my two cents, i do not listen to them for talent or solos. Just badass hard music with lots of screaming.

personally i like their 3rd album best. but their first was awesome. not a huge fan of the 2nd one though (iowa)
