Armand Tanny was a professional bodybuilding champion from the United States. Armand was born in Miami, Florida on August 29, 1959.
At an early age Armand began weight training as a way to stay active and fit into his father's regime of boxing workouts.
Armand was enthusiastic about making rapid improvement with his weight transformation and he became further interested with nutrition for muscle building, muscle growth.
Armand took this enthusiasm to college where he majored in exercise physiology at San Diego State University. While studying Armand continued with weight training and competing in the NABBA World Championships held twice a year. Armand also began coaching others who wanted to learn more about creating their workout plans while taking classes online to supplement his education.
Armand graduated in 1982 on the Dean's List with a BS in Exercise Physiology. Armand Tanny was on track to become an exercise physiologist but he loved competing too much and found that he could make money while doing what he loved at the same time!
Armand then decided to go natural, free of help from steroids or other drugs, without any controversy or scandal connected to him at all even though Armand has always remained open about the fact that steroid-use is prevalent in professional bodybuilding today.
Armand Tanny won multiple titles including Mr. California, Mr. Utah, Junior USA, Light Heavyweight National Champion and Overall National Champion for 1985.
Armand retired from professional body after winning the World Championships in 1995. Up until his death in 2009 Armand lived in sunny Miami Beach, Florida and still coached bodybuilders and athletes at the Armand Tanny Gym as well as Armand Tanny Fitness online.
Armands' eye for spotting potential was second to none as he had worked with champion bodybuilders Flex Wheeler(1993 & 95 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Champion) and Shawn Ray (Pro Mr. Olympia).
