With a crappy camera?? More likely they wanted some good light for some shots that he and a mate/wife/other took for a webpage.

Photoshoots aren't as grainy and fuzzy and have lighting or proper flashes that would negate the need for external light.

For example Mike Siren from Finland takes pics from the scene with his phone to the net so people can see some pics whats coming out...
