"Best system for squatting I have found is to increase weight over a period of 8-12 weeks while lowering reps as the weeks go on. I may start at 12 reps for each set building up in even increments, set by set until I reach 1 maximum overload set. I never stay with low reps heavy weight all the time but my higher reps are still heavy and hard, it's just that this way does not stress out my nervous system as much and I can continue to progress week by week injury free. Please remember to have your technique very good because it's the foundation and there is only so much weight a bad foundation can handle before it breaks down.
