The Elephant Bar, developed by Rogue Fitness, is a specialized barbell designed to accommodate the massive weights lifted in strongman competitions. Its extended length and unique flexibility allow for a greater "whip," making it both a challenging and distinctive apparatus for deadlift events.
Note: Maxime Boudreault was unable to complete his opening lift and, as a result, did not register a successful attempt.
Hafthor Björnsson, renowned for his previous world record of 474.5 kilograms (1,046 pounds) in the Elephant Bar Deadlift, entered the competition with high expectations. He commenced his lifts at 916 pounds, executing the lift with apparent ease. For his second attempt, Björnsson successfully lifted 1,026 pounds (466 kilograms), securing first place in the event. Following this lift, he announced his intention to attempt the 501-kilogram (1,104.5-pound) deadlift to claim the $101,000 bounty. Despite a valiant effort, Björnsson was unable to move the bar off the floor during this final attempt.
