The Elephant Bar, developed by Rogue Fitness, is a specialized barbell designed to accommodate the massive weights lifted in strongman competitions. Its extended length and unique flexibility allow for a greater "whip," making it both a challenging and distinctive apparatus for deadlift events.

Highlights and Athlete Performances​

Hafthor Björnsson's Dominance

Hafthor Björnsson, renowned for his previous world record of 474.5 kilograms (1,046 pounds) in the Elephant Bar Deadlift, entered the competition with high expectations. He commenced his lifts at 916 pounds, executing the lift with apparent ease. For his second attempt, Björnsson successfully lifted 1,026 pounds (466 kilograms), securing first place in the event. Following this lift, he announced his intention to attempt the 501-kilogram (1,104.5-pound) deadlift to claim the $101,000 bounty. Despite a valiant effort, Björnsson was unable to move the bar off the floor during this final attempt.

Notable Personal Bests

  • Bobby Thompson: Opened with a successful 951-pound lift and achieved a personal best of 986 pounds on his second attempt.
  • Evan Singleton: Demonstrated significant progress by lifting 966 pounds, marking a personal record.
  • Austin Andrade: In his ASC debut, Andrade showcased his potential by successfully lifting 961 pounds.
Challenges Faced

  • Maxime Boudreault: Unfortunately, Boudreault struggled during the event, failing to lift his opening weight of 751 pounds. This resulted in a scoreless outcome for him in the Elephant Bar Deadlift.
