Bellator 221 – Chandler vs Pitbull

This is a clash of champions when lightweight champion Michael Chandler clashes with featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire on May 11 at Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinnois. Both fighters have only 4 losses with Chandler having 19 wins while Freire has 28 wins in his record. It is a grudge match since Chandler had defeated Freire’s brother twice so he moved up to the lightweight division just for this fight.

Patricio “Pitbull” Freire was able to take revenge for his brother by knocking out Michael Chandler in the main event of Bellator 221. It was a quick fight within 1 minute of the bout when Chandler was knocked down by a strong punch. Pitbull seized the opportunity for a ground and pound which resulted in a referee stoppage. Pitbull is now double champion owning for featherweight and lightweight titles.
