"Кого-кого, а противников у атлетизма и до сих пор хватает. Уж очень долго не выходил он из подполья, пробивался на международную арену, завоевывал право на жизнь. И вот долгожданный успех! В зале конгресса гостиницы «Космос», где впервые проходит международный турнир «Мужчина и женщина-87» по атлетизму на призы «Советского спорта», полный аншлаг!
Негромкая, очень приятная музыка. Непринужденная, раскованная манера держаться на сцене. Обязательная, чуть ироничная улыбка. Таков на сцене Ахим Альбрехт Меннер. Охотно и искренне отвечает он на вопросы жюри.
— В ФРГ атлетическая гимнастика очень популярна. У меня есть подруга. Она тоже увлечена атлетизмом. Но в разряде смешанных пар мы, пожалуй, не рискнем выступать. Моя подруга, как и любая женщина, немножко капризна, а это мешает хорошо выступить.
Упражнения оцениваются судьями весьма строго, по трем главным параметрам — пропорциям, симметрии, развитию мышечных групп. Но на какое-то время, по словам тренера Вальтера Клока, Меннер позволил себе расслабиться и выступил хуже, чем мог бы. Ошибки друга по сборной исправил Франк Хиллебрандт. Он завоевал «золото» в мини-турнире за звание абсолютного победителя.
В разряде смешанных пар уверенно лидировали западногерманские спортсмены брат и сестра Лина Тиммс и Вильгельм Янниссен. Совсем неплохо на их фоне смотрелась и наша пара из Смоленска — Светлана Ломачинская и Владимир Шпитур. Они заняли второе место. Отлично подготовились к соревнованиям бронзовые призеры турнира Доминик Дальк из Франции и Лупин.
Очаровательная блондинка, смутив несколько необычного мужественного юношу из Нидерландов, в своем выступлении затронули и попытались раскрыть вечную тему человеческой любви, верности, рассказали о тонкой гармонии красоты.

An article in the newspaper "Soviet Sport" dedicated to the German bodybuilder Albrecht AKHIM and other bodybuilders who competed in the "Man and Woman - 1989" tournament.
"Many people still oppose athletic bodybuilding. For a very long time it remained underground, struggling to reach the international stage and win the right to exist. And now the long-awaited success! The congress hall of the Kosmos Hotel, where the international tournament “Man and Woman-87” in athletic bodybuilding for the prizes of the newspaper Soviet Sport is being held for the first time, is completely sold out.
Quiet, pleasant music. A relaxed and confident manner on stage. A mandatory, slightly ironic smile. That is how Achim-Albrecht Menner appears on stage. He willingly and sincerely answers the questions of the judges.
“In the Federal Republic of Germany, athletic gymnastics is very popular. I have a girlfriend. She is also passionate about bodybuilding. But in the mixed pairs category we probably would not risk performing. My girlfriend, like any woman, can be a little capricious, and that can interfere with a good performance.”
The exercises are judged very strictly according to three main criteria — proportions, symmetry, and the development of muscle groups. However, for a while, according to coach Walter Klock, Menner allowed himself to relax and performed worse than he could have. The mistakes of his teammate were corrected by Frank Hillebrandt. He won the gold medal in the mini-tournament for the title of absolute champion.
In the mixed pairs category, the West German athletes — brother and sister Lina Timms and Wilhelm Jannissen — confidently led the competition. The Soviet pair from Smolensk, Svetlana Lomachinskaya and Vladimir Shpitur, also looked quite good against them and took second place. The bronze medalists of the tournament, Dominique Dalk from France and Lupin, were also well prepared for the competition.
A charming blonde and a somewhat shy, unusually masculine young man from the Netherlands touched upon the eternal theme of human love and loyalty in their performance, attempting to convey the delicate harmony of beauty".

"Quienes se oponen al atletismo todavía no son pocos. Durante mucho tiempo este deporte permaneció en la sombra, tratando de abrirse camino hacia la escena internacional y conquistar su derecho a existir. ¡Y por fin llegó el esperado éxito! En la sala de congresos del Hotel Cosmos, donde por primera vez se celebra el torneo internacional de atletismo «Hombre y Mujer-87» por los premios del periódico Sovetskiy Sport, no queda ni un asiento libre.
Música tranquila y agradable. Una forma relajada y segura de comportarse en el escenario. Una sonrisa obligatoria, ligeramente irónica. Así aparece en el escenario Achim-Albrecht Menner. Responde con gusto y sinceridad a las preguntas del jurado.
«En la República Federal de Alemania la gimnasia atlética es muy popular. Tengo una novia. A ella también le apasiona el culturismo. Pero en la categoría de parejas mixtas probablemente no nos atreveríamos a competir. Mi novia, como cualquier mujer, puede ser un poco caprichosa, y eso puede interferir con una buena actuación».
Los ejercicios son evaluados por los jueces con mucha severidad según tres parámetros principales: proporciones, simetría y desarrollo de los grupos musculares. Sin embargo, durante algún tiempo, según el entrenador Walter Klock, Menner se permitió relajarse y actuó peor de lo que podría haberlo hecho. Los errores de su compañero de equipo fueron compensados por Frank Hillebrandt, quien ganó el oro en el mini-torneo por el título de campeón absoluto.
En la categoría de parejas mixtas lideraron con seguridad los atletas de Alemania Occidental: los hermanos Lina Timms y Wilhelm Jannissen. Tampoco se vio mal la pareja soviética de Smolensk — Svetlana Lomachinskaya y Vladimir Shpitur — que ocupó el segundo lugar. También estaban bien preparados para la competición los medallistas de bronce del torneo, Dominique Dalk de Francia y Lupin.
Una encantadora rubia y un joven de los Países Bajos, algo tímido pero muy masculino, en su actuación tocaron el eterno tema del amor humano y la fidelidad, intentando mostrar la delicada armonía de la belleza".

Перед вами участники показательных выступлений — Светлана Ломочевская и Владимир Федак. Кстати, Светлана в паре с Николаем Шайтурой стали серебряными призерами турнира на призы «Советского спорта».
