wow that POW treatment is sooo much more severe than the Australian or American troops recieved from the Japanese Imperial Army in World War 2 (assuming that bottom picture is telling the truth, of course)

Vote for McCain! Send your children to die in more pointless Middle-Eastern wars! Waaa-Hoooo!

statistics show that more Americans died from gun shots in Washington DC than in Iraq, does that mean we should pull out of DC too?

I take the position that if American soldiers were not over in Iraq keeping things more under control than were before we'd be a lot more susceptible to terrorism. After an event such as 9/11 I find it better to go over and fight the people who attacked you rather than just staying here like sitting ducks allowing terrorism to run wild.

that is quite possibly the dumbest statistic I have ever read. You are comparing street violence in an American city to that of the war in the Middle East?

I take the position that if the American government would stop interfering with Middle Eastern affairs, we would have never had to worry about terrorist attacks to begin with.

If somebody was dropping bombs in your backyard and interfering with your way of life for 50 years, you'd probably want to get revenge too. Maybe fly a plane into a building.

The longer we stay on their land and kill their people, the more terrorists we create.

Do you even know who caused 9/11 buddy?

The invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. September 11th was just an excuse for George Bush to get away with the neo-con war, without the approval from congress. We attacked a country that did no harm to us, nor were they a threat to us. Now, the EXACT same thing is happening with Iran.

So don't give me that "oh, we should fight the big bad terrorists that attacked us overseas rather than in our own backyard letting terrorism run wild!!!11" nonsense. We let the real "terrorists" that planned 9/11 get away on day one, we never had the slightest bit of interest in them.

Just for the record, Tech is right. That statistic is one of the dumbest I've ever heard, which was obviously thought up by a republican as a cheap excuse to continue fighting in Iraq.

.... and this has what to do with Iraq?

Sorry, this is plain dumb, and I truly think anyone that still thinks war with Iraq was a good idea is plain blind. America is infinite times more susceptible to terrorism now, why? Because people hate America that much more. What the fuck are they going to do over there? How do they know who is a terrorist? Terrorism isn't a club, where everyone in the club wears a terrorist team uniform. I find it hilarious, people say that terrorists can "dress in disguise as civilians". LOL... or, maybe that they're actual civilians, who are driven to terrorism? The war on terror is so fucking stupid, and hypocritical because AMERICA has killed probably around one MILLION people over in Iraq now.

Don't be so macho brainwashed. Americas presence in these countries, fucking around killing their families, fucking up their governments and actually overthrowing democratically elected leaders, and flat out stealing their resources is what pisses people off.

Look at the video that was posted as the "tribute" to 9/11. It starts off talking about how Iran held the American civilians hostage in the late 70's. Yes, they did, but of course, the video selectively omits what America did in overthrowing Mossadegh, in favor of their puppet, the Shah.

I'm willing to bet you haven't the slightest clue about America's role in Russia/Georgia... but somehow, you think that the evil Russians need to be controlled... right?

Watch this.

Obama's not much different, but he appears less aggressive than McCain. (I don't see how he could be more)

Because of this, a large amount of the world (not U.S.) would prefer Obama over McCain. I don't support Obama, but the United States is far too over-aggressive now, I can't imagine it any worse.

I know I just sound like a democrat (I'm Republican btw), but McCain will be another four years of Bush only with more aggression. It's a sure thing that McCain will do whatever the neo-cons command, we can only hope Obama isn't the same way.

Yeah I said it, hope. Change.

You always do an outstanding job defending your position Ironslave, but we both know all the "fuckings" don't help in convincing people off their beliefs. I've always felt that was your biggest flaw in debating, sometimes your anger gets the best of you. Certainly understandable anger, but try to keep it under control.

Just for the record, I'm not a nun. I swear far more than the average person off the net, but you'll notice swearing on the internet makes you appear more angry than you really are. Because of this, I only use about one swear word max per post.

You are indeed correct... I can't help it though with a war that kills hundreds of thousands of innocent people. But, I will try.

Sarcasm, sweet :uhoh2:

It's difficult to get a read on things like this though, because many of the people who think that "we need to stay in Iraq to fight the bad guys or else they will come and kill us all!" may also not vote for Obama, because he's black. People are like that.

Very true, It works the other way around aswell. I have a couple of black friends (one was my best man in my wedding) who won't vote for McCain simply because he's white and running against someone who's black. They don't know a lick about politics (not that I know a whole lot either) but their whole reasoning behind voting for Obama seems to be nothing more than "Hey, he's black like us. We should vote for him!"

I'd imagine that this accounts for at least 10% of Obama's votes.
