Filipino Romero Duno will face Juan Antonio Rodriguez on May 16 at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California for the vacant NABO lightweight title presented by DAZN. With a fight record of 19-1, Duno has 15 knockouts and he is out to avenge the loss of compatriot Mercito Gesta in the hands of Rodriguez who is also a knockout artist with a fight record of 30-7 and 26 KOs.

It was one hell of a fight until the accidental head butt occurred that stopped the fight in the 9th round and the decision was left to the scoring of the judges. The scores are 85-84 and 86-84 for Duno and 85-84 for Rodriguez. It was called technical split decision in favor of Duno who collected his 20th win. Although the decision was too close, Rodriguez was on a downslide that he was knocked down in the 8th round and looking worn and weary when the fight was stopped.
