De La Hoya is a business man, he understoods even if he loses he still makes more money than most people see in 10 life times.
Example, he lost the Mayweather fight, but his company endorsed that fight and De La Hoya came out with nearly double the amount of money Mayweather made (which if memory serves correctly was close to 55 million compared to Mayweathers 30 million)Similar threads
