0.33% is wrong lol. No one can be that low and live. Bodybuilders say all kinds of things. Take it with a grain of salt.
Agree, Jay say he was clipped at 3% 2 weeks prior to the 2005 Olympia on the One Step Closer DVD what do you think Ronnies BF% on that Olympia??

I think the 0.33% must have been an error from that machine or something. Lowest possible is around 3% I think, but as anything in bodybuilding, it will always look different from person to person. Some might look grainy and carved from stone at that body fat, while others might look more cartoonish with more muscle pop, while being dry.

Genetics of the skin, muscle density and other factors definitely have an important role on how someone looks at a low body fat.

I remember the top 20 backs article from the Flex magazine many years ago, and Jay Cutler was Mr O at that time and he was posted as best back #6 in that list lol.

Now I would not know where I would put Phil, but if I were to update that top 20 list from Flex, I would leave the top 5 as it was I think, with Ronnie, Dorian, Lee Haney, etc and I would add Phil in that 6th spot or so.

I have the scans from that Top 20. I like Jay, but 6 lol. I don't think he should even be top 10.

I would put Phil in Top 5.

I agree about Jay's back. He was great overall, I liked him in 2001 and 2009, but his back wasn't that wow except maybe the width.

And yeah I guess Phil's back is indeed top 5 material.
I think Joel Stubbs was 4th in that list?

Like in that other comparison of Dorian 1993 vs Jay 2009 gym photos, it is so hard to make a real comparison because of the lighting and the cameras used for these pics.
There could also be different filters applied, like in those Jay photos, because he kinda looked like he had a glazed donut effect on them.

Dorian's photos took by Kevin Horton I think it was, are unbelievable. For sure he used all the tools for lighting and everything to have the perfect shadows on where they needed to be. Not to take anything from Dorian of course, but this is just my 2 cents.

Ronnie's photo here looks like it was taken with a normal camera, right after a normal workout and without any other professional lighting like those normally used for a photoshoot.
