Turning 40 last year made me think about my life as the first 20 years and the 2nd 20 years and wondering what will happen during the coming 20 years.
Guys, think ahead it a bit. Where will you be, what will the Mecca look like etc.
A few of my thoughts:
The first 20 years (most of the members have just completed their "first 20") were all about schooling and 2 years in the army/military. Also of experimentation i.e. tried drinking, smoking, clubs etc. Never liked any of that and still don't. Making mistakes, but not having much worries or obligations. Just hated school and couln't wait to complete school and start working for a living.
The 2nd 20 years is where things start getting interesting. You start working and learning to take care of yourself. Your likes and dislikes are more clearly defined. Somehow things become more serious. Most will probably be married with children during this period although I encourage all to wait untill they are at least 30. Have as much safe sex as possible before settling down. It is also a period of responsibilities and worries. Not only are your only worries what time to get out of bed, how many protein shakes you can down today or what you will be training, but there are now other people to think about and if you don't work, they might come and take away your car, house etc.
20 Years ago there was no such thing as the internet or the Mecca. What will it look like in the year 2029?
We will obviously have more gadgets that will make the Mecca more enjoyable. I wonder who will still be around and what will the site look like? Maybe more interactive? All posts on touch screens? Topics? More science? Special machines to train on? Imagine what the clever guys will do with gifs, smileys etc. One will probably be able to smack someone through the screen even though he is sitting in another country?
Looking back at the past few years, the possibilities seem endless!
