yeah but Dana White kept repeating how Chuck needed to win this fight in order to fight Wanderlei. They've both lost their last two fights, it might be devastating for the loser of their fight if they're forced to face right now.

They might still be pretty professional about it, but alot of these guys are getting psyched out (ESPECIALLY the pride guys). Im hoping wanderlei doesnt flake out, cuz his aggression in fights is ridiculous.

wandys reaction to chuck's loss: (notice that loser mayhem in the side)

I think Silva was thinking of the dollars that just got flushed, less people will want to watch two, two time losses, but in reality you'd watch these two fight each other at age 50 lol.

Silva's coming off two straight(and more dramatic) losses as well; I see he and Chuck still going for December as a billed 'redemption' match.

My overall thoughts:

Forrest, Forrest, Forrest!!! I was yelling through a good portion of that fight:keke: Shogun has a habit of gassing, and I feel it's unfortunate that he didn't prepare a little more for his debut. Although it probably didn't help that Forrest practically gave him a fetus on the left side of his head:dunnodude: All and the same, Griffin's finish was an awesome cap to an incredibly surprising fight. Forrest really validated himself in it; everyone remember that slick omaplata he nearly finished Shogun with? His countless spin-outs to Shogun's attempts to pick a leg? Standing and on the ground, he's come a long way since TUF1.

Fitch should've had a unanimous nod over Diego, but a win's a win. Snachez looked intense as crap from the start, but I feel having his original rush and takedown stuffed really shocked him. He kept throwing his legs in his guard and Fitch made him pay every time with those side-stradles and viscious face shots. Diego looked to be in excellent form, and he was, but Fitch is simply a better fighter. Hat's off to both of them though:tiphat:

Tyson Griffin is still a maniac. That is all:xyxthumbs:

Machida has been railed for not being able to put Nakamura away, but the lame masses(Rogan definitely included here) don't realize that top Asian fighters routinely eat concrete in order to make them nearly IMPOSSIBLE to knock out. Lyoto landed some horrendous shots, and considering Nakamura's background as a judoka fighter, he displayed an amazing amount of fortitude. Machida is still a top-notch fighter, and I really hope we see Nakamura again soon.

Jardine's win was a little quizzical to me, but it was a win all the same. That's why I hate judges in MMA(Cecil Peoples especially:no:)- Keith won the second round on the fact that he dropped Chuck for about three seconds, whereas Chuck's dominance of Jardine throughout the rest of the round(and near finish of him to boot) was quickly forgotten in the face of a semi 'highlight' moment. The way that Rogan kept saying it should've been a 10-8 round made me want to shove a piece of rebar through his skull:disgust: Such. An. Idiot. The way I saw it, it was Chuck easily in the first and slightly in the second. The third was all Jardine, and his kicks were viscious throughout. I'd have the split for Chuck, but such is uneducated judging. Seriously, a homeless-outreach program could do a better job of calling the action than most of the judges Zuffa finds.

All and all, it was an excellent event. Chuck's loss was the only smudge for me, but it was minor in the face of Fitch and Forrest dominance:hsughr:

Nice post:xyxthumbs:

I thought Tyson Griffen was lucky to win..i thought the other guy was in a dominant position for alot of the match.. i was hoping for a draw.

I didn't even know Machida and Nakamura fought. They didn't show it here..gutted as I like both fighters.

Not sure I agree with you on Liddell winning the 2nd round. Thought Jardines big punch landing was enough to take it. Other than that big punch they seemed to be evenly trading. Just my opinion though.

Agree on your Forrest/Shogun analysis.

I just think its idiotic that we have to beg for this fight to happen. Theres too much demand for this fight, and since the UFC now writes the rules, they can make this happen with ease.

Its getting annoying now. :disgust:

no one I know. I don't even think Jardine's mom thought he had a chance in hell.

Thank you JS:2:

I think Tyson's aggression spelled the difference for him in his fight. I fully agree with you on the positioning fact, but I guess the judges felt like rewarding Tyson for escaping the numerous RNC's he was slapped with rather than awarding the instigation of such:dunnodude: I don't feel he fully won the fight, or even a split for that matter. With Sherk's suspension in the light though, I think the powers that be desperately want/need established names in the LW division that are already passingly framiliar with the fans.

As always, this is just my opinion:)-
That's the tough thing about The Liddell/Jardine fight, as it really brings to the forefront what should be important in judging. Jardine taking Chuck down with a shot comprised about five seconds of that round, yet most people feel he won the sorrounding 4:55 because of that. The exchanges were fairly even, but this was before Keith started with his barrage of death kicks(a'la round 3). Chuck had him up against the fence with potential end barrages twice(maybe three-memory's a little hazy without a re-watch), and had him pressured evenly throughout. Now Chuck didn't even come out in Round 3, which was aggrivating as he looked like Mirko against Kongo in the same round; waiting for a counterpunch that won't come:shootme:

I gave the slight edge to Liddell in round two based on his near finishes(plural), but seeing how Jardine's had more shock value I can see full well how one could use that as giving the edge to him.

I just have a problem with singular events spelling a round on the cards. As a point of reference, two of the three judges gave Tito the second round in he and Chuck's second fight....what?:dunnodude: Very little striking+a sloppy take/fall down(from which Chuck rose after about five seconds and threw an evil elbow right across Tito's beak from the clinch to escape-whole thing lasted about eleven sec) = winning the round despite being pressured from post to post by your opponent. The 'judges' can be as bad as most 'fans' at times; all they remember is ten seconds or so of a five minute round and they proceed to base their decisions on such.

yeah i saw that but he did say you don't have to read. To be honest I don't really like either one of the coaches. Plus the dude fucking wining and crying about his loss and missing his girlfriend was killing me.

I can understand the object lesson he was going for, but it still seemed a little out there to me. Although being that he's a midwestern farmer it really wasn't a surprise.

The line one of the guys had concerning the 'search' made me laugh though; "I don't know who he would be, 'cause there aren't any farmers that slam people and kick their @$$%$ in the Bible."

I am setting a date.

I have been drinking like a madman for fifteen years.

I am done with it.

I am setting a date.

It has ruined my career. It has ruined my health. I have lost the respect of my peers. I have lost my family. I have lost so many friends. I have lost the women I have loved. I have been arrested, wrecked cars, spent nights in jail, gotten in fights, gambled and drunk away hundreds of thousands of dollars, raged like a beast, talked like a fool. I lost my home, gone deep into debt, ruined my credit, and now I’m at risk of losing the last few things I own. I have destroyed my life. All because of drinking. I have made so many mistakes. I have disappointed so many who believed in me. Embarrassed so many who loved me. Almost everything bad that can be said about a man, has been said about me.

I am done with it.

I am setting a date.

There will be those of you who understand me, who will hear me. There will be those who laugh, and ridicule. I am willing to bear the weight of that if any of these words might reach anyone, might have meaning to anyone, if this vision might give hope to anyone.

I choose to Believe

I will always believe there is some magic out there. I will always believe there is some magic within me. If we stop believing, our spirits die. I refuse to let my spirit die.

I choose to Believe.

I am setting a date.

I am setting a date, and on that day I will stop drinking. That will be the day I begin to be a better man. That will be the day I begin to find the best of me. That will be the day I begin to find the best of what life can be. I want to find the magic. Join me. If you want to make a change in your life, join me. If any of you want to find the best of yourself, join me. If you want to find your own magic, join me. I am going to quit drinking, get back into training, and step into the Octagon again, and when I do, it will be dedicated to all of you who have the courage to believe in the best of what you can be, all of you who have the courage to stand up with me and face your fears and weaknesses. We will stand shoulder to shoulder, an unconquerable army. BELIEVE in what you can do, and it will happen.

I am setting a date.

It has been said that I am done, that I will never fight again. It has been said that I have no chance of ever being a champion again. I refuse to accept that. I challenge you to believe in yourself. I challenge you to do what they say can not be done. Join this army of unconquerable souls.

I choose to believe.

I am setting a date.

I really hope he can pull it off.

^^ Yeah I hope so too. He is from here and was a great guy back in the day, but i fear that this is more of the same from him. I know he really wants to but you need a support system and I don't think he is ready to truly face his problems.

Getting in shape. I'm doing rehab for my injurys. I'm sick of fight 75%. I'm trying to pay my bills injured and making guys like evans and forrest look good. I can't do it anymore. I'm going to take some time to take care of myself. Everone wants the old Tito back and I'm going to give it to them.

^^Fact.

Tito is still a complete tool. His fight with Forrest was his return after a lengthy gap away from the sport; how could he not have been 100% for that through anything but his own stupidity? Seeing as how he truly lost it anyway, the fact that he's whining about it annoys me even more.

CC nailed it prefectly; Tito has always been the same fighter. Sloppy standup. Shoot. Shoot. Sweep. Elbows. Balls up standing while getting rifled with shots. Gets spanked by Randy. Pisses and moans every seven seconds when his purse is anywhere from 20-60X more than most fighters on any given card. Runs his ignorant mouth, yet runs away from Wanderlei, Chuck, and Dana(among others). Shows ingratitude to everyone who's made his lifestyle possible.

Rinse and repeat.

Edit- The fact that his grammar is on par with your average third grader doesn't help him in my eyes either.

I believe it was never a case of Tito being better years ago, rather it was just that he was facing competition that was inferior to him in some way (Elvis Sinosic, Patrick Cote, Evan Tanner, etc) I mean this was a champ that was facing guys with losing MMA records and guys 20 lbs below his weight class. He did beat Wanderlei, but Wanderlei was a n00b then, so you can't really count it, kinda like St. Pierre/Hughes I. His wins against Belfort/Griffin were big ass gifts. He could have beat Rashad, but he had to grab the fence 2-3 times significantly in the process and gas himself silly in the 3rd. His most significant uncontroversial wins in the past few years have been 3 times against Ken Shamrock...i mean i love Shamrock, but hes waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the hill. Look what happened to him when he fought an actual wrestler in Couture, he got pwned 5 rounds straight and cried like a bitch. He fought Chuck once and got fucked standing, the he fought Chuck again, in which that fight could have been stopped in 2 instances, no to mention Chuck had a torn MCL during that fight. So in all seriousness, besides banging Jenna Jameson (which isnt exactly a crowning achievement) what the fuck has Tito Ortiz done for anyone to consider him anywhere even near a top level fighter?

Don't worry i'll wait....

:D
