So in all seriousness, besides banging Jenna Jameson (which isnt exactly a crowning achievement) what the fuck has Tito Ortiz done for anyone to consider him anywhere even near a top level fighter?

Don't worry i'll wait....

:D

So will I:49:

That's dissapointing to hear, but not really a surprise. Since Dana was so adamant about him not being able to defend his Sambo title (simply not being able to compete in other venues due to a contract stipulation) I never really thought he'd actually sign with Zuffa.
He'll face watered-down competition and likely fade. He deserves more; I just wish he could see that.

The following is a message from UFC fighter and TUF veteran Rory Singer from The Underground Forum:

Forrest has had a majorly damaged shoulder for quite a long while. The injuries to his shoulder even before his fight with Shogun were exhaustive. You have never heard of it because Forrest never mentions his injuries, whether he has won or lost, after his fights. This surgery was a long time in coming. Everyone felt it was in his best interest to have the surgery now before fighting another top tier fighter. He basically fought Shogun with one arm. Trust me, Forrest wanted to fight Silva in December but that was not to be.

what is there left to say...

ive lost my respect for Fedor, he is a pussy

really man?

Have you seen who hes fought and more importantly HOW he fights?

I HIGHLY doubt Fedor cares who he fights.

As sad as I am that I wont be able to see him in the ufc, im glad they werent able to secure the top guy and have a complete monopoly.

I'm dead tired, so I'll sound off on 77 later.

Silva is an incredible champion, but I'm still sad to have seen Franklin lose.

Quick thoughts on 77, Spoiler alert.

Starnes cut was super deep, his reaction to the stoppage was unprofessional and after he got a chance to look in the mirror I am sure he calmed down. Gurgel got freaking owned, his head is going to be sooo swollen this morning. Bonner beat a guy who is a one trick pony, good for him, I still don't like him and that fight proves nothing, if he would have fought a top level fighter he would have got it handed to him. It would have been nice to see Houston Alexander knock him out but he has proven himself to be good enough to fight competition better than Bonner. Since his fight with Forrest at the first UFC finale Forrest has gotten so much better and Bonner has not, he is still riding the coattails of that one fight and I am tired of it, sorry for the rant. Sylvia proved he is hard to deal with, while he may not have knocked anybody out lately and he always seems to be the underdog, the guy hardly ever loses, and his opponent always has an excuse - this time a broken hand in the first round. Tim has not won 25 fights because something always went wrong for the other guy, at some point people are just going to have to live with the fact that he is hard to deal with and hard to beat. Rich Franklin has apparently found the guy that he cannot match up with at all. I can't believe they let him come back out for the second round, for the sake of his health his corner should have thrown in the towel if the doctor was not going to. There was no reason for him to go back out there after getting knocked out and saved by the bell. At best he could see straight, but it was obvious that the first time he got hit in the head he would probably shortly there after go back down. Anderson Silva is a bad man.

My wife was really disapointed with the Franklin fight, she just loves how nice Rich is and hates for him to lose. I have only seen the last 2 fights so i can't comment on the rest but Vera was all talk and as much as I don't like Tim he is a hard fighter to beat. I hope him and Kongo go at it soon they are both huge and i think it would be a good fight.

The biggest dissapointment for me was the Okami/MacDonald bout. I dig both of these fighters a lot (Okami more than Red), but Jason just didn't show up at all. I really hope Yushin signs on for another few fights with Zuffa, seeing as how this was his last contracted bout. Dana made noise of this being a title-eliminator fight as well, so I'd love to see what Okami and Silva could do. On a side note, Ryo Chonan just signed with the UFC:ughnoes: On the other end of the spectrum....so's Brock Lesnar:keke:

Vera was a bit of a goob, but I still had him 2-1 over Sylvia in rounds. Tim is looking better, but I honestly don't believe he took that fight. I believe Brandon's lack of 'wow' factor hurt him on the judges scorecards, ergo Timmah picked up a slightly-shady decision. The way that Vera was pissing and moaning about his hand annoyed me though.

Seeing Kalib's skull was a little crazy:eek:

Bummer about Jorge. I'm surprised that he didn't do more on the ground when he was in his numerous side controls, but being blasted in his own guard with something like 800 punches probably didn't help.

Stephan looked great, but Schafer isn't a real top ten competitor. I really hope he can keep his head in the game when he starts fighting ranked fighters again, as I'm of the camp that he's more than a one-trick TUF-finale show.

Franklin and Silva.....I love both of these guys, so it's the rare situation where a win either way will be fine by me. I'm still bummed that Rich lost though...in his hometown....on his wife's birthday:tear: Now broken hand number two happened here about two minutes into the first round, but you heard absolutely nothing about it. I had to dig around to even confirm it; that's how awesome Rich is. I personally believe he's proven everything and more in the middleweight division. Moving back up to LHW wouldn't be a bad move at all in my eyes; I just want to see him back, either way:ughfingers:

All in all, it was a decent event. Liddell and Wandy is all but confirmed for December, and Bisping and Rashad has been set for a future (main) event as well.

I had the first round even, nothing happened, the second round to Vera - but he lost a point for the knee to the head while Tim was on the ground - so even round, and third Round to Tim. If not for the lost point in the second round I think it should have been a split decision, though the only person that really dominated any part of the fight was Tim in the second half of the third - so I don't think it was a shady decision, though it was by no means a dominating performance.

^^Standard Sylvia calling card then:49:

The clinch and pray taken by both fighters was decidedly lame. Without Randy, the HW division looks like a joke again. Why do they hype guys like these when Big Nog and Arlovski are still walking and talking?

Got me. I assume the title is vacant, so if Arlovski is healthy they need to put him in a title match now against Tim - it's only fair since the title was last Tim's, and after he wins that they can have him fight Nog. That would be the best for the division in my opinion.

Word around is that Big Nog's already is filling one half of the future HW title match; it'll be interesting to see who they actually ante into the spot next to him. Tim is the former champion (again:rolleyes:) but I don't feel he's done enough to warrant a rematch in the time this bout will likely take place.

I hope Chuck comes to fight as well. This will be a redemption contest for him as much as it will be anything else.
