^ lol, my bad guys...if you have any questions just ask, ill usually know but just forget to post

Forrest Griffin is fighting Quinton Jackson at the end of the next season, which could mean that the fight will be on free tv, the season is also for MW's

Fedor has most likely pussed out and will fight Choi, regardless of what everyone is hoping for (the japanese frequently change fights last minute though)

The LW title fight (at UFC 80) is no longer an interim fight, but for the actual title (as Sherk has been stripped) but Sherk will prolly get to fight the winner, which is an issue because if BJ wins he may refuse to fight Sherk (he said he didnt want to fight someone who juices)

The GSP/Hughes is still interim and will go the full 5 rounds

the loser of Liddell/Silva will most likely be on the shelf for TIME

...thats all i can remember for now...enjoy :D

We've both been slacking in here a bit, CC:duh:

Word's out that Chuck just signed a two year six-fight contract with Zuffa; looks like Wandy is the one with something to lose if Liddell takes the duke. Rumor has it that in the face of Dana's less-than-fruitful signing of Herring he's holding his breath on seeing if he's going to extend a multi-anything contract to Silva.

Barnett is rumored to be in negotiations with Zuffa.

Fedor has been completely mum about his upcoming bout with the 'Techno Giant'. I think he's secretly embarrassed; I sure as crap would be if I were him.

The next TUF looks amazing, and it'll be the first time that a coach has headed up a team of a single weight class that wasn't his own. I'm just completely sold on Forrest and Rampage, so even if all the fighters are whiny little douchebags I'll still catch every episode.

Cool fedor interview

http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=5261&zoneid=13

MMAWeekly’s Korea Correspondent, John Evans, recently caught up with Fedor Emelianenko, the man almost universally regarded as the No. 1 mixed martial arts heavyweight in the world.

MMAWeekly: You will be fighting on New Year's Eve in Tokyo, but your opponent has yet to be named. Can you confirm the rumors that you will be fighting Hong Man Choi?

Emelianenko: I cannot confirm this fight at the moment. I am ready to meet any opponent in the ring.

MMAWeekly: Jeff Monson and Josh Barnett are obviously perspective opponents as well. Do you have plans to fight either of them in a future M-1 Global promotion?

Emelianenko: I think that fights with these fighters are possible in the future. M-1 opens greater opportuinties for sportsmen.

MMAWeekly: Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White has been quoted as saying, "I don't think Fedor is a top-five heavyweight in the world, and I'm not saying that because I didn't get Fedor. I've always felt that way about Fedor and I always felt Randy Couture would beat Fedor … Fedor is a farce." How do you feel about these comments?

Emelianenko: Dana talks a lot and uses words lightly. Let Randy Couture fight me. Allow this fight that everyone wants to take place. Me, Randy and MMA fans all over the world want it. The only obstacle is Dana.

MMAWeekly: What is your opinion of Randy Couture? He has announced publicly that at this point in his career you are the only fighter that he feels it is worth it for him to face in the ring.

Emelianenko: People want to see this fight and I want to meet him in the ring. I have the greatest respect for Randy and have always admired him. I am also thankful that he has such a high opinion of me.

MMAWeekly: Can you discuss your long-term goals in the M-1 organization? Where do you see the M-1 promotion, and Russian MMA in general, ten years from now?

Emelianenko: I trust in (M-1) and the good people that they have brought together. M-1 gives me the chance to meet champions from various organisations in the ring, instead of being restrained within the limits of one organization.

MMA has great potential in Russia. In every city there are Mix Fight clubs opening. There are fights shown on TV, including fights from Pride Fighting Championships which are shown on NTV, (one of the most popular television stations in Russia). On subscription/pay TV there is a special fight channel. The president of Russia respects our sport and attends the large events.

^^Nice find, JS:xyxthumbs: Fedor is pretty humble and likeable, and I always enjoy that he's straightforward in voicing his opinion. I think this M-1 decision was a little iffy, but if his manager can actually wrangle it into a come-one-come-all setup it'll validate it for sure.

I'm getting 50/50 reports on Chuck's training for his upcoming bout. I'm done with wondering; I'll just see which Liddell shows up.

^^That's what made it iffy for me. Finkelstein, or something like that, ya? Ducking fighters? That would suck if it goes back far enough. I know a lot of fighters will do that from time to time, but to create an org with the specific intent to do so would be awful.

fedor and his management ducked tim sylvia and josh barnett, and admitted it, for sylvia the management said he was a too dangerous opponent for fedor and fedor refused to fight josh cause he said they were friends, but on the other hand josh is ready to fight fedor at anytime...im not saying hes a shitty fighter or anything, hes got great skill, but he hasnt fought anyone worth a damn in his actual weight class since cro cop...it seems he has more freak matchups/can fights than actual title defences reccently

who has he fought since Cro Cop? Zulu (freak fight), Coleman (even though i hate to admit it, Shamrock-esque way over the hill), Hunt (superheavy not a heavy) Lindland (middleweight not a heavy)

i mean say what you want, but gassing Fedor anymore is pointless, he hasnt fougt anyone in his weight class since cro cop and that was almost 2 years ago

i dont know what fedor is now, but hes not the same guy, people have to realise that the fedor whos ass they kiss was from 2005...almost 3 years ago

Honestly, do you believe if tim silvia was put onto the table for fedor and the stipulations were right, he would refuse to fight the stainiac? Silvia is not even in fedors league. Id like to see the barnett/fedor fight, but to me it would be a fight that validates barnett, and not fedor. Because everyone expects fedor to do what he does best. Because this IS a buisness, he has to handle himself as a buisnessman like everyone else would. I've yet to see anyone who can really give him a run for his money. And as much as I like randy, I think if they ever got over the legal situation and actually fought, fedor would come out on top.

you know i dislike sylvia as much as anyone else, but if you seriously think that sylvia's style of fighting would not give fedor a challenge, then ur love for fedor is blinding you

what style? Lay and pray? Randy full dismantled him and to be honest, silvia comes very heavy with luck. Which is why I pray that somehow the ufc has a tournament for the HW title. See exactly where his luck runs out.

While I admit that fedor is still human at the end of the day and can still very well lose to a top tier fighter if he makes a mistake, its yet to happen. :dunnodude:

but on the flip side, now that randy is willing to switch to m-1 to fight fedor, and with arlovski and barnett seriously considering it as well, we'll definitly see some interesting fights for fedor this coming year.

Tim doesn't Lay and prey bro.. he stands and jabs and wins by boring decision.
In fairness... he's very affective at it and has great defense on the ground.

I agree with u in saying Fedor is not over rated.. I've never heard of him ducking fights.. so was disappointed to hear this. Still I really think he would beat Randy,Tim and Barnett... just my opinion.

I just watched the Sakuraba/Royce K-1 bout again; I'd forgotten how flat out awful the decision was. If we're on the subject of jobber/can fights and extremely dubious draws/decisions, Royce Gracie reigns supreme in that department:rolleyes:

Hes not ducking fights. When ur number 1 people bitch about u not fighting so and so, so u must be ducking them. People thought fedor was ducking crocop, hunt, lindland, etc. We know how that turned out, hes more than proven himself, and he doesnt really owe anyone shit now. He didnt sign with the ufc for several reasons (most of which everyone already knows), not because hes a pussy.

To me if barnett and other top tier guys get a chance, it will be great fights, but they dont validate, (atleast to me) fedor being number 1, because he always has been

^^My only concern with Fedor is stagnation; his lack of active competition as of late could allow other fighters pass him up. I know from experience that fighting and training to fight are two completely different things; going without builds up rust, no matter who you are. He'll walk through Choi, but I really hope he starts lining himself up some serious quality opponents in the near future.

I just don't want him to develop Royce syndrome; huge impact followed by a slow and miserable death. Gracie hasn't had a decent fight since his bout with Sakuraba in 2000. Yoshida and Tokoro should've been losses(kind of like his second fight with Shamrock), Akebono[Rowan] was a joke, he was massacred by Hughes, and his recent decision over Kazushi was another shameful charade. I don't want to see Fedor's management and the judges do ridiculous things to try and preserve his image in the face of declining abilities.

^^haha.. He must start thinking before he speaks.. Karo came off as a dick on TUF also. Give him a fight against Nate Diaz... that would have some bad blood.

Sorry but i'm a Royce fan OBE.. I had him beating Yoshida in the rematch.

Seeing he and Diaz would be a dream come true:hsughr:

No need to apologize at all, JS:xyxthumbs: I know I've posted up my opinions on Royce before, but watching that K-1 Dynamite bout just made me want to sound off for some dumb reason.

IMO and for a quick summary Royce is a brilliant BJJ practitioner, and an average MMA competitor. I guess I take exception to him making ludicrous amounts of money to fight once a year, all because he made a stir thirteen years ago (there are a lot of fighters just as good now that get so much less...); pair that with his measley almost-a-slap-on-the-wrist for doping positive against Sakuraba and my colored perception becomes a little more so.

Then you have someone like Tank:49:
