I recently read that an overweight fighter in UFC is penalized by giving 30% of his purse to his opponent. And in case of a title fight, the overweight fighter cannot win the belt if he is the challenger and he loses the belt even before the fight if he is the champion. In one main event fight that featured the finalists in a training competition, Sijara Banks was disqualified and replaced by another fighter due to her excess weight. Truly the UFC is strict with its rules that is good for the sport of mixed martial arts.
