Your post-workout meal should be within 45 minutes, but the time does not need to be exact. When working out, your muscles use up their glycogen stores for fuel- so this results in your muscles being partially depleted of glycogen. You need to eat something with some protein, carbs and fat in it, to help your body in the post-workout recovery process.
