with that really wide grip on benching i didnt know ifit was just a myth it could really place emphasis on the outer bit of the pec, cause ive only ever really seen marcus ruhl do it not many other pros?

agree !!!There's no such thing as the "outer pec" - you can't isolate your pecs - but you can put the stress on the pecs marginally different depending on if u bench flat or incline. A wide grip will keep the triceps more out of the movement than when using a close grip and thus leaving more work for the pecs to do - but it is also quite hard for the shoulders (in my experience).
