What other percentages?
In the manual there are two different ways to start of the program, the sheet that you gave is # 2,in which the percentages are higher. The first one starts ate like 55%, 65% and 75%, it starts out easier,
Re: Adam's post about working up to heavy singles after the 5/3/1 sets.
When doing this, is it best to just hit the prescribed reps (whether it's the 5s, 3s or 5/3/1 week) and then go after a couple singles? Or do you still stick with the basics of the program and go after max reps on the last set and THEN attempt some heavier singles?
First, I wouldn't go after heavier singles every week. I'd suggest doing the weeks like this:
Wk 1 - 3's + 2-3 singles
Wk 2 - 5's
Wk 3 - 5/3/1 + 1-2 singles
Wk 4 - 5's deload
When you hit a single above the prescribed single, DO NOT change your training max. Keep the training max lighter and do the program as directed.
If you do decide to go for some singles I would not try for a rep record before. There's nothing to say you can't, but it doesn't make sense to me.
