I don't know, he seems pretty in control of the situation. He probably has a pretty good understanding of shark behaviour. They're not mindless killers after all.

dont get me wrong i`m not saying hes a dumbass because he might be researching, testing.... "will i die if i do this?" etc...
sharks usually dotn attack people, they attack usually because of blood, the creature might be bleeding = food or he might mistake it for a turtle, which is one of the reasons why surfers get attacked very often, shark comes from under, the surfer will be silhouetted with the board and he`ll look like a turtle,
