UFC heavyweight champion vs light heavyweight champion

This will be a very interesting fight when UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic faces UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in the octagon next week, July 8 here. Miocic is coming off from a win over heavy puncher Francis Nganou over 5 rounds while Cormier's last conquest was in beating Volkan Oezdemir. Miocic is sporting a record of 18-2 while Cormier has a 20-1 fight record.

It was a quick fight that unexpectedly ended in the first round. The taller Miocic was hitting Cormier at ease although Cormier was trying his best to get closer. In a clinch, Cormier released a right hook that fell Miocic on the mat. Cormier followed up with a ground and pound attack that was immediately stopped by the referee. Daniel Cormier now holds 2 belts – the light heavyweight and now the heavyweight belt that he snatched from Stipe Miocic.
