WBC junior lightweight title - Miguel Berchelt vs. Francisco Vargas

Miguel Berchelt will defend his WBC junior lightweight title in a rematch with former champion Francisco Vargas on May 11 in Tucson, Arizona. Berchelt defeated Vargas by TKO in the 11th round when they met in late 2017. The champion has 35 wins and only 1 loss while Vargas also has 1 loss with 25 wins and 2 draws. This is the 5th defense of Berchelt of his belt.

Miguel Berchelt gave a superb performance to retain his WBC super featherweight title against worthy challenger Francisco Vargas who also gave his best to please the crowd. Vargas had a broken nose that bled from the 3rd round and the continuous attack of the champion made the corner of Vargas to throw in the towel in the 6th round. Vargas suffered his 2nd defeat and Berchelt earned his 36th win and 32nd KO against only 1 loss.
