I didn't post the Joe's magazine cover's, but it's definitely gay.
This is one of those times when I’m going to have to take a break from trashing Muscular Development magazine, and shift my focus to Joe Weider and the Weider family of magazines. Most people know Joe Weider as a bodybuilding magnate, but that’s because they don’t realize that he ran a highly successful GAY PORN EMPIRE (all caps, so you know I’m serious).
I learned this from Randy Roach, who I consider a friend of mine, and who is the author of Muscle, Smoke and Mirrors. To be 100% honest, I don’t give a f*ck about bodybuilding, and never have - but if you haven’t read this book, I’ll go on the record as saying you probably don’t know 1/10th as much as me about it.
He recently did an interview with Carl Lanore and SuperHuman Radio, on this very subject. They touched on the fact that Joe Weider had published homosexual pornography, but nowhere hear the depth of information found in Muscle, Smoke, and Mirrors.
Without giving away too much of what Randy chronicles in his amazing book, I’ll simply tell you that Joe Weider was earning more money on homosexual pornography than he was earning on his bodybuilding magazines. Without boring you with details, I’ll show you a few examples of what kind of gay porn Weider was putting out, prior to facing a lawsuit by the “League of Decency“, which ultimately made him lose his taste for gay porn (although Ben Weider was rumored to be a homosexual for his entire life - as is Steve Blechman, of Muscular Development currently).
