Arnold Classic-An Introduction
The Arnold Schwarzenegger expo honors Arnold Schwarzenegger, the bodybuilding legend, each year, drawing crowds of bodybuilders, martial artists, and fitness fans from across the globe.
In 1989, the Arnold Classic was held in Columbus, and the Arnold Sports Festival was born. During the 1970s and 1980s, Arnold Schwarzenegger was one of the most well-known bodybuilders globally. To promote bodybuilding, he established the Arnold Classic. As a result, the Arnold Classic has grown into one of the world's most prestigious bodybuilding competitions.
The Columbus Convention Center is still hosting this competition. Arnold Sports Festival announced the athletes competing in the 2022 Arnold Classic on December 17, 2021, which will take place at the Battelle Grand Ballroom of the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, OH, from Mar. 3-6, 2022. It is the world's second-largest bodybuilding competition. The champions crowned in Columbus will be considered top contenders for the 2022 Olympia, which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 16-18, 2022.
The History of the Arnold Classic
Schwarzenegger has added other events over the years. The Arnold Classic continues to crown a male bodybuilder as the winner. Still, the Arnold Fitness Training Seminar, the Fitness International Competition, the Arnold Cheerleading and Dance Team Championships, the Arnold Strongest Man Competition, the World Powerlifting Organization World Championship, the Arnold Fitness Fashion Show, the Arnold Classic Arm-wrestling Challenge, and the World Record Attempt are now also held. In 1993, the Arnold Classic was expanded to include other competitions, and the combined event was dubbed the Arnold Fitness Expo. In addition, the Arnold Sports Festival has been renamed.
In 2005, over ten thousand athletes competed in various competitions, with over 400,000 dollars in prize money on the line. The Arnold Fitness Expo drew a crowd of 75,000 people. In addition, 600 vendors sold their wares at the event.
The Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival, also known as the IFBB Arnold Sports Festival, is an annual multi-sport event that includes professional bodybuilding (Arnold Classic), strongman (Arnold Strongman Classic), fitness, figure, and bikini weekend expos. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the name of the Arnold Schwarzenegger Foundation, which was founded in 1989. The International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness hosts the main event every year in late February or early March in Columbus, Ohio, United States (IFBB).
After Joe Weider's Olympia, it is regarded as the second-most prestigious event in professional men's bodybuilding, physique, figure, and bikini; it was previously the second-most prestigious event in professional female bodybuilding.
Arnold Classic International
Arnold Classic is an international event with branches in different countries. Some of them are-
● Arnold Classic Europe in Spain (since 2011)
● Arnold Classic South America in Brazil (since 2013)
● Arnold Classic Australia in Australia (since 2015)
● Arnold Classic Africa in South Africa (since 2016)
● Arnold Classic Asia in Hong Kong (only 2016)
● Arnold Classic UK in England (since 2021).
● Arnold Classic Russia
Arnold Classic 2022
The Arnold Classic, now in its 34th year, is the weekend's main event. Thirteen men from six countries will compete for one of bodybuilding's most prestigious titles. Brandon Curry, the 2019 Mr. Olympia and Arnold Classic winner, William Bonac, the two-time Arnold Classic Champion, and Cedric McMillan, the 2017 winner, will be among them.
Due to travel issues for Bonac and injuries for McMillan, both were unable to compete in the 2020 competition. However, for example, Brett Wilkin and Samson Dauda are considered future stars among the contenders.
This year's competition has undergone significant changes. The men's Open will be split into two evenings for the first time.
The preliminary judging will take place on Friday, March 4, 2022, and the finals will take place on Saturday, March 5. This is similar to the format used at the Mr. Olympia competition. However, because they must maintain their condition over two days instead of one, the competitors' strategies will be altered due to the new format.
This year's Arnold Classic will feature five men's divisions and four women's lineups, totaling nine IFBB Pro League divisions. In total, 83 athletes from 18 countries will compete for the chance to compete alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger for the title of champion. The Men's Open lineup is listed below.

Athletes to Watch For This Year
The five competitors listed below have the best chance of winning the Arnold Classic 2022.
Cydney Gillon
The Figure division is held in a vice-like grip by Gillon. She's the five-time Olympia champion and arguably the most dominant female competitor in the sport right now. In 2019, the Georgia native won the Figure International competition at the Arnold Classic, making her one of only 11 women to do so. If she wins another AC, she will become only the sixth woman to win the title more than once. Jenny Lynn, Mary Elizabeth Lado, Nicole Wilkins, Candice Keene, and Candice Lewis-Carter are the other repeat winners.
Natalia Soltero
The defending Figure International champion is Natalia Soltero. She won the title in 2020 (a Figure competition was not held in 2021). Soltero and Gillon have known each other for a long time. In 2020 and 2021, the Mexican competitor finished second in Figure Olympia.
Soltero has won five professional Figure competitions in his career. She's a serious threat to win the Arnold again. Soltero will enter her fifth Olympia with the momentum she needs to upset Gillon if she succeeds.
Jessica Reyes Padilla
Padilla, who competes for Puerto Rico, is coming off a fourth-place finish at the 2021 Olympics. According to NPC News Online, she has 11 professional victories and several Master's victories. Padilla's most recent win came at the Puerto Rico Pro in 2021. However, she has yet to win one of her division's two major titles, the Figure International or the Olympia. Her best finish in this competition was third, which she achieved both in 2020 and 2019.
She'll need to pull off a major upset here if she wants to compete in the Olympia later this year (Dec. 16-19 in Las Vegas, NV). However, her structure is excellent, and she can steal a spot from one or both of the other favorites if they miss the mark.
Nicole Zenobia Graham
Graham came in fifth place at the 2021 Olympia and won the 2021 Arizona Pro. Since her professional debut in 2018, she has won the 2019 Tampa Pro and the 2020 New York Pro, two prestigious events.
She'll be competing in Columbus for the first time, and she'll most likely be among the first callouts. Of course, her flaring lats and round shoulders are her greatest assets. But, she'll do well on the scorecards if she can show off the definition that goes with them.
Dark Horse: Lola Montez
For the third time as a pro, the 2018 Arnold Amateur champion will compete. Montez competed in her first Olympia in 2019, placing 15th. She did not compete in the 2020 Olympic Games, but she improved from six places to ninth in 2021. She finished sixth at the Arnold in 2020. Overall, Montez's career has been on the rise. She has a chance to place in the top five at this show, which would be enough to get her noticed.
Conclusion
The Arnold Sports Festival will be held in Columbus, Ohio, from March 3-6, 2022. It will feature some of the world's best bodybuilders. The 2022 Arnold Classic will have something for everyone, whether you want to watch the Pro Wheelchair competition or see who will take the top spot in Classic Physique.
##Update: Akim Williams and Cedric McMillan will not be competing at the 2022 Arnold Classic
