If you see the full photo from that 1974 Mr. Olympia, Lou Ferrigno is on stage near Arnold. In "Pumping Iron," they made it appear that the 1975 O was the first time they faced off. Made it more dramatic that way.

There were a few things in the film that were 'staged' for dramatic effect and that's the movie business; made sense to bend the truth a little. Two that come to mind are Arnold's dad's death/funeral and him not going to not screw up his contest prep and Mike Katz's blue T-shirt 'stolen' by Ken Waller. The scene with Waller, Robby Robinson and that other guy throwing the football around talking about what and how he was going to do it "once we get to South Africa" was filmed after they came home from the show.
