Anyone seen Edmond staring William H Macy? I only saw about 10 - 15 mins of it the other night but I was very impressed but Macy's acting. Hearing him say "....fucking nigger!" is worth watching this.

The Man - it was shit. Samuel L Jackson really needs to read scripts before he signs on, he is better than that.

^Another poor choice by De Niro.

Confidence - entertaining enough but a little too smug in it's convenient twists.

Just curious cause I dont think most of us have heard of some of your movies. I understand where you are coming from because of all your film knowledge.
I took a few film classes as electives and watched these types of movie and eventually became way to analytical about movies.
I don't know if it's possible to be too analytical in terms of dissecting high art or attempts at it for that matter.

Yes, but what does this have to do with anything? :dunnodude:

It's all good, though it's been awhile for both films. I remember greatly enjoying Bogart in The African Queen though.

African Queen was not what I was expecting, but was enjoyable

Zulu was possibly Michael Caines best non-cockney role

Papillion was good but not terrific. I was wanting it to speed up a bit as it was a long flim, but themeatically it did need to be long. The McQueen and Hoffman pairing was pretty good too. Go get it out Line!

Since we tapped into this on the other thread I didnt want to keep hijacking the thread but I was curious about a movie. In my film class we watched Do The Right Thing and my teacher was in love with the movie. I thought it was very good but was curious what you thought of it considering many people thought it deserved the 2 oscars it was nominated for.
